Colour palette for Wattlebird Hill

Brief

On the South Coast of Kangaroo Island lies 100 acres of bush dedicated to wildlife conservation and habitat restoration. Wattlebird Hill will offer intimate wildlife experiences and refuge for injured native fauna.

Wattlebird Hill owners requested assistance with designing a logo, establishing a coherent brand framework and creating a website that showcases the property and animals.

Wattlebird hill wanted something that felt hand-made, hand-drawn, approachable and wholesome. Natural colour tones were preferred with olive green as the primary focus. The website to be a simple landing page introducing visitors to the sanctuary with emphasis on the surrounding landscape and animals.

The logo is inspired by ‘Piglet’, a charismatic Rose-Breasted Cockatoo who lives at Wattlebird hill. The rustic nature of the sanctuary is expressed through a hand-drawn style font encircling the logo.

Colours mirror the property and surroundings through the seasons. Muted greens and natural wooden tones transition into  golden grasses as the days warm over summer.

The website design mirrors a visitors journey through the property itself. Hand drawn light-golden wattles adorn sunlit hills of native bush and original photographs of the animals taken on site.

Nautilus continues to work with Wattlebird Hill refining the final design. Check back for updates.
